obviously its winter, and I’ve bitched about this before, but my oil paint just isn’t drying.
Seeing that the deadline is in five days and half of those are gonna be spent painting the walls back to white, I’ve decided that for the minis, they have to be acrylic. (the minis are my little A4 MDF boards that I’ve primed up and am using as smaller painting studies.) ((I’m really loving the boards because they are so movable and something about the scale of them tickles my brain good))
I did an initial series of 5 minis and I gave them the most gorgeous glossy flat colour backgrounds but after two days they just haven’t dried so they’ve been sent to out of the way surfaces to dry and I will pick them up again next semester. I then got five more boards and have begun working on them in acrylics and I’m carrying over some of the oil pastels just because they’re so good. Im really obsessed with them. I’m also kind of just falling further into delirium by the day but I’m channeling my patron saint Yayoi Kusama, and embracing the crazed spotting, and honestly, my art hasn’t been this much fun to make in a long time.
I cannot wait for the next three weeks of just unbridled making.
