This evening I was in a research rabbit hole trying to find more artists like Tira Walsh, and I was reading her piece in Art Collector about her show at Two Rooms in Jan of 2020. At the bottom of the page in the recommended next articles, there was one about Jonny Niesche, and in it I came across a word I hadn’t seen before. “Unmoor”.
I love this word now. It is a good word.
Both definitions are funny to me because this is often how I felt when catching the ferry to uni, and its a boat so it was unmoored. This is an emotion I want to use in my work. This is one of my paints now.
