This morning I came across Danae Ripley’s work. It captures glimpses of modern life in its transient moments. This work especially stood out to me.

Her ghostly figures and gloomy palettes draw me in but the colours and atmosphere that they have keep me there. By not committing to any solid forms the painting denies any sense of permanence. None of the colours are too strong and theres a pretty even composition, with the row of figures through the middle.
I found her work through Tira Walsh as they went to unitec together. https://danaeripley.wordpress.com/
